Why? Life / Fight – Woman / Her. That’s Her. She remains locked behind the wire of prison walls, or houses where doors and windows remain shut, where the living ones become dead, even though they haven’t died yet. She went out on the streets in the Fall, holding banners saying ‘Freedom’ and you cannot stop her, turn her back. It’s Her who screamed and still is screaming through the mouths of women, men and children, when I was unable to open my mouth and when I was walking with my trembling, sometimes even paralysed body, yet ready to fight along with other people walking next to me. I have always wanted to face the idea of unmediated, direct action that is caused by something penetrated ‘intravenously’, like an injection or a sting. In my stage work, I have always thought and taken action as Her. Now She, a daughter, a sister, a lover, a mother, is a body, a temple. She is invincible, one of a kind and she is ‘for’ until the end of the world.

Studio Wachowicz / Fret is a creative tandem working since 2021 in the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw, focusing on the interpenetration of theatre and performance art and the complementarity of the two in each act on stage. Marked by hybridity and openness, the Studio’s works can be called performative installation or séance. Their common denominator is sonority and exceptional focus on sound and vibrations. The Studio often uses tools derived from the tragic tradition rather than the dramatic one, aiming at what the artists describe as intravenous hearing of the world!

De ce? Viață / Luptă – Femeie / Ea. Aceea este Ea. Rămâne încuiată în spatele zidurilor de sârmă ale închisorii sau în case unde ușile și ferestrele rămân închise, unde cei vii mor, chiar dacă încă nu au murit. A ieșit pe străzi toamna, ținând pancarte pe care scria „Libertate” și nu o poți opri, nu-i poți întoarce spatele. Ea este cea care a țipat și încă țipă prin gurile femeilor, bărbaților și copiilor, când eu nu puteam să deschid gura și când mergeam cu corpul meu tremurând, uneori chiar paralizat, dar gata să lupt alături de alți oameni care merg lângă mine. Întotdeauna am vrut să mă confrunt cu ideea unei acțiuni directe, nemijlocite, cauzate de ceva pătruns „intravenos”, ca o injecție sau o înțepătură. În munca mea scenică, am gândit și am acționat întotdeauna ca Ea. Acum Ea, o fiică, o soră, o iubită, o mamă, este un corp, un templu. Este invincibilă, unică și este „pentru” până la sfârșitul lumii.

Studioul Wachowicz / Fret este un tandem creativ care lucrează din 2021 la Institutul Grotowski din Wrocław, concentrându-se pe întrepătrunderea teatrului cu arta performativă și pe complementaritatea celor două în fiecare act scenic. Marcate de hibriditate și deschidere, lucrările Studioului pot fi numite instalații performative sau ședințe de spiritism. Numitorul lor comun este sonoritatea și concentrarea specială asupra sunetului și vibrațiilor. Studioul folosește adesea instrumente derivate din tradiția tragediei mai degrabă decât din cea dramatică, vizând ceea ce artiștii descriu ca fiind o percepție intravenoasă a lumii!
