The inspiration for this work came from watching a documentary about a war refugee. In the documentary, there was a scene where a father of a refugee family brought food for his family. However, the food was poisoned, and as a result, the entire family perished. Watching this scene gave me the impression of cockroaches being exterminated by eating poisoned bait. This led me to the thought that war has the power to reduce humans to the level of cockroaches. The message of this work is that the horrors of war can render human lives as insignificant and disposable as those of cockroaches. A man and a woman, with nothing to their name, meet by fate and manage to find a small house to live in. It’s a shabby house, but they are happier than anyone else. They build furniture out of various scraps and dream of a bright future together. Suddenly, with a loud roar, the house collapses. Outside, the sounds of tanks and soldiers’ footsteps fill the air, accompanied by continuous explosions that sound like bomb blasts. In the face of this chaos, the couple begins to fight desperately to survive.

Founded in 2008, Baewoochango Theater Group (Actor Warehouse) is engrossed in cultural and artistic communication with the audience through various creative activities that reflect the times by dealing with creative plays unique to the group, excellent translation plays, and dramas embodied in physical language. The group does not stay in a single theatrical style, but explores theatrical language by inviting directors of various theatre schools. Through this, it aims to establish the theater company’s own theatrical aesthetics, expand the level of local culture and arts in the long run, and improve citizens’ culture and art enjoyment and quality of life.

Inspirația pentru această piesă a venit din vizionarea unui documentar despre război: tatăl unei familii de refugiați aduce mâncare familiei sale. Din păcate, mâncarea a fost otrăvită și, prin urmare, întreaga familie a pierit. Vizionând această scenă, am avut impresia că niște gândacii de bucătărie sunt exterminați prin consumul de momeală otrăvită. Această imagine m-a condus la gândul că războiul are puterea de a reduce oamenii la nivelul gândacilor de bucătărie. Mesajul acestei lucrări este că ororile războiului pot face ca viețile umane să fie la fel de insignifiante precum cele ale gândacilor de bucătărie. Un bărbat și o femeie, fără nimic care să le aparțină, se întâlnesc din întâmplare și reușesc să găsească o căsuță în care să locuiască. Este o casă dărăpănată, dar sunt mai fericiți decât oricine altcineva. Își construiesc mobilă din diverse resturi și visează la un viitor luminos împreună. Deodată, cu un vuiet puternic, casa se prăbușește. Afară, sunetele tancurilor și pașii soldaților umplu aerul, însoțite de explozii continue. În fața acestui haos, cuplul începe să lupte cu disperare pentru a supraviețui.

Fondat în 2008, Baewoochango Theater Group (în traducere aproximativă „Depozitul de actori”) este implicat în comunicarea culturală și artistică cu publicul prin diverse activități creative care reflectă vremurile actuale, abordând piese creative, unice, excelent traduse și drame transpuse în limbaj fizic. Baewoochango Theater Group nu se oprește la un singur stil teatral, ci explorează o paletă artistică largă, invitând regizori din diverse școli de teatru.
