The setting of the show is an old clock, where the second hand (the old age hand) ends his years and will retire soon, so the new second hand (the young age hand) is coming to an interview for the job. They get into a discussion that shows their life, the past and the future. Both share their dreams, the lost dream in real life for the old hand and the rosy future for the young one. They become friends and the old one tries to persuade the young that his life will get lost for nothing as his. Life is bigger than a job (it is a symbol for any job) that eats away our soul as we try to advance in our careers. The old second hand lost his life waiting to be a minute hand and to be an hour hand was even a farer dream. But the lights of the job in a hard world blind eyes, so the young second hand insists on continuing in getting the job, in order to give the chance to human life to continue too.

The Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts was established in 1944, aiming at preparing professional actors, directors and artists of theatrical decoration and criticism. The institute comprises six specialized branches; namely, acting, dramatic arts, décor, criticism, make-up, and integrated arts.

Decorul spectacolului este reprezentat de un ceas vechi, unde secundarul (acul bătrâneții) își încheie anii și se va pensiona în curând, așa că noul secundar (acul tinereții) vine la un interviu pentru un loc de muncă. Cei doi intră într-o discuție prin care își prezintă viețile, trecutul și viitorul. Amândoi își împărtășesc visele, visul pierdut în viața reală pentru cel în vârstă și viitorul roz pentru tânăr. Devin prieteni, iar bătrânul încearcă să-l convingă pe tânăr că viața lui se va pierde în van, așa cum s-a întâmplat cu a lui. Viața este mai importantă decât un loc de muncă (valabil pentru orice loc de muncă) care ne roade sufletul în timp ce încercăm să înaintăm în carieră. Bătrânul secundar și-a pierdut viața așteptând să fie acul minutelor, iar a fi acul orelor era un vis și mai îndepărtat. Dar strălucirea unui loc de muncă într-o lume dură îi orbesc ochii, așa că tânărul secundar insistă să continue să obțină postul, asta și pentru a da o șansă vieții oamenilor să continue și ea.

Institutul Superior de Arte Teatrale a fost înființat în 1944, având ca scop pregătirea unor actori, regizori și artiști profesioniști ai decorului de scenă și ai criticii teatrale. Institutul cuprinde șase ramuri de specializate: actorie, arte dramatice, decor, critică, machiaj și artă interdisciplinară.
